Free Workshop on Social Enterprise - Friday, May 2nd, 9:30-11:30am
We want to let you know about an upcoming workshop about social enterprise. Niki Nicastro McCuistion, longtime Executive Producer of The McCuistion Program on KERA, will be the Workshop Facilitator.
The workshop is Show Me the (Unrestricted) Money!!!, presented by The Capacity Building Institute. Nikki will discuss The How To’s of Building Sustainability Through Social Enterprise.
What if you could reduce your reliance on traditional funding sources over which you have little or no control?
What if you could develop regular sources of unrestricted income that would allow you and your board to expand services, develop new programs, provide better wages and benefits for staff, and build your organizational capacity?
You can, and you should!! Savvy nonprofits all across the country are changing from charity-think to tax-exempt-business-think. Their leaders, both board and staff, have invested in social enterprise to build their organizational capacity and reduce their reliance on traditional funding sources.
In an economic time when government support and philanthropic dollars from the corporate sector are growing tighter, it has become more important than ever for nonprofits to develop alternative revenue streams if they are to be sustainable.
This practical, how-to workshop will give you the foundation and of what social enterprise is - and how it can work for your organization. Participants will leave with the tools to initiate their own transformation and sustainability.
Facilitator Niki McCuistion, CSP has spoken and consulted with businesses and nonprofits worldwide, helping them achieve and sustain transformational change, peak performance, and productivity. She is the author/co-author of several business books, including Women Wealth and Giving and the newly released The Nonprofit Guide to Social Enterprise. Niki is the Chair of the Social Enterprise Alliance of North Texas, the President-elect of the Press Club of Dallas, and the executive producer of the award winning The McCuistion Program, now in its 25th year on KERA, PBS TV.
